Leslie has been a client of Fit By Burn since May of 2015. In the last 6 months this girl not only changed the shape of her body, but also the way she thinks about food. She inspires others all around her. Leslie just got married in October, and had to have her dress altered 2 times! She continues to live the healthy lifestyle and has found balance in her life. I am so thankful for Leslie and her drive to better herself and inspire others.
I have struggled with my weight my entire life. Bathing suit season was my own personal nightmare. I was always trying new fad diets and eating all the wrong foods. I knew I needed a change in my life, but I didn’t know where to start. I had gym memberships in the past, but I was your typical client that came and used the treadmill or elliptical for a half hour and then left. I didn’t know my way around a gym and couldn’t tell you my bicep from my quad. In March of 2014 I decided to take control of my life and reached out to a personal trainer for help. I was placed with Tara for my first session, and in all honestly I was intimidated as she approached, I could have never known then the impact that she would have on my life. Tara is compassionate and caring, she is thoughtful and kind and she understands that everyone is on their own path. She wants you to learn a lifestyle, not a crash diet or fad. She promised me, if I put in the work – I would see the results and she was right. Tara doesn’t just teach you a lifestyle; she introduces you to a way of life and a support team to keep you on track.
In the past year and a half that I have been working with Tara, I have found the balance that I was always looking for. It’s not about eating perfect every single day and ALWAYS being on a diet. It’s about making choices every day to better your life, understanding that one cheat meal isn’t the end of the world and wanting to make that change for yourself.
I came from not being able to do a plank to challenging coworkers and friends. Tara makes working out fun and desirable. She celebrates your victories, big and small. I started my journey because I needed a change, but I continue my journey because of the family that I have made throughout the way – and the changes that I have seen in my body. I am a work in progress, and I choose to continue my journey because I want to strive to be better each day.
